Industrial Ecology and Sustainable Consumption Conferences

Purdue University Environmental and Ecological Engineering sent an awesome team of grad student researchers to two conferences in the Netherlands last week:
🟦 International Conference on Industrial Ecology, https://isie2023netherlands.nl/
🟩 Sustainable Consumption Research & Action Initiative Conference, https://www.scp-conference-2023.com/web

I was lucky to work with several of these researchers on investigations into the following topics:
πŸ”΅ The rapid energy transition and resource extraction lock-in
πŸ”΅ A systematic review of the home appliances industry sustainability reports
🟒 How can engineers help with a just and sustainable degrowth?
🟒 A skeptic’s guide to environmental claims
🟒 System dynamics model for simulating rebound effects induced by energy savings with re-spending scenarios

Great job Utkuhan Genc, Kendrick Hardaway, Thomas Maani, JP Pieper, Miriam Stevens, and the rest of the crew!

Thank you International Society for Industrial Ecology - ISIE, Leiden University, SCORAI, and Wageningen University & Research for hosting and supporting our work on energy and infrastructure within biophysical limits.
